Microparticles (MPs) are small fragments generated from the plasma membrane after cell stimulation. Membrane microparticles (MPs) derived from activated/apoptotic T lymphocytes harbor Sonic-HedgeHog (MPSHh+) are able to regulate in vitro angiogenesis.
We demonstrate :
- In vivo injection of MPSHh+ in mice improves endothelial function by increasing NO release, and it reverse endothelial dysfunction after ischemia/reperfusion.
- In mice and porcine myocardial infarction model, injection of MPSSHh reduces infarct size and reperfusion arrhythmias via a prevention of QT enlargement.
- MPSSHh via Shh signaling pathway protect the myocardium against the reperfusion injuries after an acute myocardial infarction.
