This process can be implemented on a CNC machine or robot.
Robotization of the process allows to obtain a larger workvolume, a better resources cost/production time ratio, while keeping a decent part quality, with the potential to address the need for flexible and sustainable manufacturing technologies.
ISF is characterised by:
-An improvement of material formability,
-low forming forces,
-shape-independent tools,
-and a low manufacturing cost for customised products.
The invention proposes a process improvement though the following steps:
-A modeling methodology allowing to develop numerical simulation models of the process that are sufficiently accurate to estimate the forming forces and the final geometry.
-An elasto-geometrical model-based control strategy of industrial manipulators using force feedback to correct elastic deformations of the robot and then increase geometrical accuracy;
-A novel ultrasonic vibration forming tool making it possible to reduce certain constraints occurring during manufacturing
